When his teacher asked the classically-trained musician to play at a healing circle without music, and not from memory, but simply from his heart, little did Donny know what was in store for him. As he played, a new sensation came to his hands and body and a melody emerged that moved the people gathered and surprised the violist.
Since that time, Donny has continued to channel this new vibration on his viola in reiki clinics, in natural settings, in cemeteries and as a component of his work as Midwife for the Dying where he helps people transition into death.
"What I've come to understand," explains Donny, "is that together with sprit, this music provides a vibration of healing and liberation offered in service to the Earth and her peoples.
Donny continues explaining his music:
"Today, the energy of these 'soul songs' compels me ever more strongly. I am asked to surrender all conceptions of melody and technique and just play from the very bottom of my being."
